Out With the Old [Hair]…

Ladies,

That time is coming near.

What time you ask?

The time… to take out my kinky twists!

I’m mentally preparing to dedicate the time to treating my hair like the crowning glory it is. But if you know me you know it has been a bit of a battle for me mixed with a little laziness…

Did you see my twists?

My Kinky Twists

I talked about them a bit here (in case you missed it)

Right before I got them done I trimmed my hair for the first time since I finished transitioning some two years ago. Then I had the hairdresser straighten it. In preparation of “getting my hair back” I’m trying to remember what I hid underneath all these extensions. Despite the trim and straightening I hid a lot in these twists! Thank God for my hair’s growth – always!

The trim was so good for my hair and it felt and looked a whole lot better but I took a break from it anyway. I did some travelling this summer and I wanted to keep my stress and luggage to the minimum.

I did feel in love with my hair again after my trim, but I’m still prepping my mind to wake up earlier to treat my hair better this time around. That is my usual promise to myself when I take extension out. I’m yet to be impressed with myself in how I carry this promise out…

Before my first trim in years!

Last Length check before the “trim”

Snip, snip!

After the “trim” – the result!

Will make a date with my hair next week. Wish me luck!

Hold me accountable ladies!

Off to drool over your hair blogs now…

  2. Great hair blog! I think I especially enjoyed the puns too.
If you’re in Spitalfields today, you should check out the Solomon’s Daughter pop-up shop from 11am – 5pm today. And if you’re interested, I can have them leave aside some products for you to review. – IF you’d like. Keep up the good work!

    • I would LOVE that! But I won’t be able to get to Spitalfields today. It would’ve been great to see the pop-up and review the products! Is there any way I could get those products some other time? In the meantime I will post the details on FB and Twitter to spread the word. Keep me posted! Thanks for stopping by. xx
